Peep This... Pruane2Forever

This kid has me in stitches on a regular basis. He is like a living breathing character on Beavis & Butthead. The thing about this kid is that he embodies that prepubescent awkwardness that we have all gone through. Except he puts it all on youtube.
He mostly does reviews of films, original short films and his personal points of views of happenings in his every day life. He even reviewed his first day of school. The very first vid of his I came across was one where he is responding to youtube spammers who put links to porn in the comment sections of his videos.

"Screw you Porn Addicts"

I will be dropping his vids in the blog every once in a while so keep up with me. Here are a few of my current faves....

"A Crow"

"I hope it doesn't have AIDS. Like we need that here."
"Okay John... OR DAAAAD!"
"It's okay crow. Your going to be with Jesus soon."
"WHOA!!!! Howdy Do!"
"Going to do a prostate exam John? ......... I MEAN DAAAD!"

The amount of quotables from this vid alone is enough to subscribe to this kids channel.

"I am PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"You have no life! Your not GOOD at anything!

"Battle of The Money Jar"

"That sonofabitch! I'm gonna kick his ASS!"

This kid is definitely entertaining enough to kill some time if you have internet acess handy. Peep!

Peep This... Spitkicker.com

I don't spend a whole lot of time on this site because it isn't updated on a regular basis. Even now I can't get into the site. I don't know if it's down permanently or I just can't get in because it's 4 A.M. . But when it is up, it offers a wealth of information of some of my favorite artists. From De La Soul to Dave Chappelle, you can keep up with tour dates, interviews, upcoming projects and if your artist is the network they may be one of the contributing writers for the site. Hopefully the site will be up by the time you read this. Peep...

It's been a minute now, only a minute now...

"It's been a minute now.

Only a minute now.

A little reevaluating hope you feel me now.

I'm on some new me.

Focused on a new tree.

Trying to shake the money off the limbs so I can do me."

- Dave of De La Soul

I absolutely love it when a hip hop lyric mirrors my reality so perfectly that it seems like it was written for my exact situation. De La Soul does this so often, it is ridiculous how underrated this group is. My uncle asked me once who my favorite rapper was and when I responded Posdnous he laughed at me. Oh well, to each his own. Anyway, the reason for my month long hiatus is that I became a home owner! So while moving my family out of our 2 bedroom apartment into our house, priorities got rearranged. Blog entries got pushed to the side to make room for hiring painters, mortgage insurance and choosing ceiling fans. Now that the dust has settled (temporarily) I can get back to sharing. So since I started this entry with a De La Soul quote, I guess it's only right to hip you to their site.

For The Beat Heads... Room Acoustics (Better Your Mixes)

Fresh out the oven is something from Mau. I have not had a chance to read it yet as I just checked my e-mail real quick before dinner. Considering his track record though it should be a good read.

"A bit technical but a good read - the things to really read (read them and understand them) is the mirror test, bass traps, and speaker positioning. Handle this stuff, you will not need to buy new speakers. I know people than mix on 4 inch KRKs, and 4 inch M-Audio 100.00 speakers - that can get a better mix than people with better equipment. They have all gone to school btw, but it is because of their understanding of room acoustics that they a) save money, b) get a more balanced stereo mix.

The mastering engineer I have been working with told me to read this. The part about sound fooling your brain is trippy, but explains why a lot of people automatically reach for a stereo imager like S1 which in a poorly treated room will translate to a bad mix widening the mix more than it really should.
